How to Fix "Windows could not configure one or more system components" during Win 7 x64 OSD - SCCM 2012 R2
Last Week we encountered problem with Windows 7 Enterprise x64 build. Task sequence was bombing out with an error message soon after installing image and device drivers and rebooting first time. The error message was
Rebooting the system didn't made any difference and was stuck in the loop.
Hope this helps!
Things i tried that didn't work:
- Someone suggested putting a restart in Task Sequence just after Setup Windows and Configuration Manager step.
- Tried updating Kernel-Mode Driver Framework to version 1.11 (KB2685811). i know there are quite a few blogs suggesting this fix but this didn't work for me.
- Redid the drivers package but still no luck
Resolution/Fix:
it turned to be Scheduled updates. I took a copy of Wim file before scheduling updates. After pointing Operating system image package to Wim without updates from last month, OSD was successful without any errors. so it was a problem with updates which Windows couldn't configure on first reboot.Hope this helps!
